Thank you for visiting my web page. I would like to tell you something about myself and my practice. I am a licensed clinical psychologist, and I enjoy working with individuals and couples. I incorporate a holistic approach to psychotherapy, integrating body, mind, spirit, and emotions. With individuals, I work with relationship issues, anxiety, depression and psychological effects of health problems and chronic pain. My special interests include  working with artists, dreams and spiritual issues. Couples counseling may focus on communication, life changes, alternative lifestyles, committment, anger management, sexual issues, separation and divorce. In addition to working with individuals with pain, I also work with couples dealing with the relationship issues arising from the chronic pain or illness of one of the partners.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am an adjunct faculty member and clinical supervisior in the Psychology Doctoral Program at the California Institute of Integral Studies. I also serve as a community health educator, teaching couples communication classes at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Francisco.  

 Personal Information

After emigrating in my teens from Germany to the United States, I went to school, raised a family and worked as an artist and a body worker. When my children were grown, I entered the doctoral program at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where I received my doctorate. I bring my personal experience with blended families and multicultural issues to my psychotherapy practice. I am bilingual and can offer psychotherapy in German to those who are interested.
